Okay, so you've promised yourself, your best friend and anyone else who cares that you are going on a diet for the New Year. No more junkfood, pizza, mochachinos or anything anything else that is unhealthy!! Are you excited about this resolution or dreading it?? I thought so...I'd be dreading it too. In fact, it's probably a guarantee that you will gain, rather than lose weight--really! When you deprive yourself of foods you love, you are much more likely to binge on them when you finally give in. Instead, you're much better off eating small amounts of food that you like. So, don't go from eating three slices of pizza to none at all. There's nothing wrong with one slice of pizza with a big salad. In fact, this is a well-balanced lunch or dinner. A small piece of chocolate or one scoop of ice-cream is also fine, just choose one at a time and stop after you've had that one portion. Dieting almost always ends up making you feel cranky and is also usually unsuccessful. In addition, teenagers need all sorts of things to have well-rounded eating habits...even a little chocolate.
